Every space, every place, and every being has its own unique footprint and its own unique story. At GreeneHouse NYC we aim to capture and recount the stories of our clients. Whether we’re photographing people or spaces, our approach is to get to know our subjects and showcase their essence.
Melanie Greene, Founder
Melanie Greene is the founder and principal photographer of Greenehouse NYC.
A Philadelphia native, she’s spent more than thirty five years honing her skills on anything that stayed still long enough to be photographed: children, animals, nature, architecture. She parlayed her talent into a Masters in Art Education, teaching for several years in New York City schools. During her free time, a camera was looped around her neck. In 2008, Melanie decided to switch to photography full-time.
Over the past two decades, Melanie has focused on capturing the essence of homes entering the real estate market. She has a deep appreciation for visual content, and views homes as more than simply four walls with a floor and ceiling. Through strategic staging, unique angles, special lenses, and thoughtful composition she is able to showcase the best features of indoor and outdoor spaces. In recent years, she has begun training up-and-coming artists in real estate photography.
In addition, Melanie is known for her flattering portraits. In her spare time – and for those who are very lucky – she captures intimate family moments, transforming memories into art.
Melanie’s photographs have been instrumental in the sale and rental of properties by all the major New York real estate companies, including Compass, Corcoran, Douglas Elliman, Extell Developers, Brown Harris Stevens and Sotheby’s. In addition, her striking images have been featured in print in the New York Times, Architectural Digest, and the Wall Street Journal; and on such websites as Brownstoner, Houzz, 6sqft and Curbed NY.
Melanie currently lives in Forest Hills, Queens with her husband and dog, Daisy. In her spare time, she tackles puzzles, confronts the unfathomable mystery of home baking, and keeps Daisy from getting into trouble.

Virtual Staging Manager
Susan is an avid admirer of creativity and design. Having studied art, economics, and fashion design, she parlays her skills and knowledge into interior design via Virtual Staging. Previous to virtual staging she has worked in the fashion industry as a menswear designer for brands such as Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, etc.
